The days of the last month mostly skip by, and you're constantly sleeping because you're only a shell of yourself in those last few days and are only living to fulfill the promise. When the protagonist uses the Great Seal ability, their soul is left behind to become a permanent barrier between human desires and Nyx, effectively killing them in the process. Yes, Persona 4 follows a murder mystery, but there is plenty of levity and humor. In those final moments, what's left of the player's spirit dies off after finally fulfilling the promise to meet their friends on the roof after graduation.
